Buses and taxis comprise the main public transportation between the airport and Funchal.

The Aerobus shuttle runs to and from Funchal roughly every three hours, while regular buses serving Funchal, Machico and Caniço run about every hour.

Taxis are available at all times of the day and serve the whole island. A surcharge may be levied for luggage and nighttime journeys.

General Parking Facilities

The airport has seven car parks, with 700 short-term spaces and 90 long-term spaces. One car park is reserved for large vehicles and another offers monthly rates.
